Veritas Workstation — Licensee Manual

You've received a licensed copy of Veritas Workstation under the Veritas Workstation License & Learning-Contribution Agreement — a standalone snapshot, packaged for your business specifically, with no live connection back to Albee Holdings' own system in either direction. This manual is about how to actually run it.

This is a different situation from someone inheriting full ownership of the original system. Some things here are framed as limits, not just habits — read those parts carefully, they're part of what you agreed to under the License.

Your copy includes the full organizational operating pattern: the Constitution and Governance layer, the Director/Manager/Worker structure, Veritas's process for evaluating claims and preserving findings, and Saul, the investigative-reasoning subsystem — all fully functional, ready to run for your own business today.

What it does not include: Albee Holdings' own accumulated findings — their specific Truth Records, Non-Truth Records, Evidence Records, and Work Items. You have the method Veritas uses to evaluate and preserve findings. You don't have Albee Holdings' own banked conclusions. Your copy starts with an empty truth-store and builds its own, from your own use.

Everything here works exactly like it would for any operator — talk in plain English, describe outcomes rather than technical steps, give context along with requests.

• Open a Work Item before starting anything substantial, close one out when it's done — same as any operator. This is how your own copy builds a real operating history over time.
• Use "remember" and "forget" for durable facts about your own business.
• Invoke Saul when a claim or decision needs real scrutiny.
• Verify live results yourself on anything that touches the outside world — a deployment, a live change — rather than trusting a success message at face value.

All of this is exactly like operating any other instance of this system, because it is one. The differences are below.

It doesn't grow the permanent truth-store

Your copy is intentionally locked so that investigations and findings run in it don't become new permanent organizational record. In practice: if the system offers to "Save a Veritas Rule" or "Save a Veritas Observation," or proposes writing a new Truth Record, Non-Truth Record, Evidence Record, or Model Review as a result of your own copy's activity — that gets declined. This isn't a bug or a withheld feature. It's how the License is structured, so that findings from many different licensee copies don't fragment into incompatible, independently-evolving versions of "what Veritas knows."

Your own Work Items, Director Decisions, and day-to-day operational use are entirely unrestricted — this limit is specific to the permanent truth-store, nothing else.

Real findings go back through the contribution channel, not into your copy's own store

If your use of the system produces something genuinely valuable — a technical improvement, or marketing/advertising insight from your own results — that's exactly what the License's contribution process exists for. Submit it as a contribution record rather than trying to have your own copy adopt it permanently. It gets evaluated on its own merits and, if it holds up and generalizes, becomes part of the wider system.

There's a boundary on what the system will explain about itself

A single curious question about how the system works is completely normal — that's not a problem. But there's a real, deliberate line between understanding what the system produced for you and trying to reconstruct how it's built. The system will decline to walk through its own governing instructions, prompt structure, or internal decision logic in a way that amounts to reverse-engineering it, no matter how the question is framed or how many turns it takes to get there. This isn't the system being unhelpful — it will still fully support your actual business use. It's a specific, narrow boundary around the system's own design, not around helping you.

Getting a newer version

Your copy is a point-in-time snapshot — refreshed manually, not automatically. If you want a more current version with newer governance additions or process improvements, that's a request back to Albee Holdings directly, not something your own copy can pull for itself.
